The PM system is a versatile optical metrology system for factory and shop floor environments. It provides comprehensive measurements by integrating data from multiple sensors and viewpoints. It features advanced motion tracking and data stitching algorithms to combine fringe projection and close-range photogrammetry measurements. The system enhances the ability to identify defects by comparing it to a CAD reference, highlighting deviations from tolerances.
Taraz Metrology was born out of the University of Nottingham’s Manufacturing Metrology Team, combining cutting-edge research and proven expertise. They provide high-quality measurement solutions that play a critical role in quality assurance in production processes globally, driving efficiency and sustainability across industries.
The PM system is an advanced system. It uses fringe projection technology to take a single measurement. Additionally, it has controls to change the relative position of the object in view through translation and rotation.
By knowing the details of each position change coupled with photogrammetry techniques, measurements taken on different configurations can be merged together into one single 3D measurement. This makes PM well suited for measuring objects with complex shapes.
1) Combined Use
The PM system combines photogrammetry and fringe projection for a high-accuracy measurement on a wide range of materials, and is designed for matching environment and production area.
2) Comprehensive Shape Analysis
During this process, the shape is measured from multiple angles to derive an in-depth and comprehensive analysis, ensuring different view points are accounted for.
3) Final Result
This process provides an analysis of the shape that acts as a free-standing final inspection measurement solution for factory and shop floor environments.
